Iran affirms its “determination to defend its sovereignty”
Iran said it was “determined to defend its sovereignty” after the latest US strikes against the country, with both sides accusing each other of violating the fragile truce in force as they began negotiations to resolve the conflict in the Middle East.
“Iran strongly condemns the airstrikes of the American terrorist army against several surveillance and control installations on the southern coast of the country in the early hours of Sunday,” said the Iranian Foreign Ministry, emphasizing “its determination to defend Iran’s national sovereignty” in the face of American “aggression”.
Bahrain targeted by Iranian missiles and drones
Bahrain’s anti-aircraft defenses faced Iranian missile and drone fire, the army of the small Gulf kingdom announced, in a context of a new exchange of strikes between the United States and Iran, despite the ceasefire in force.
The Bahraini army “intercepted and destroyed a number of projectiles used in these treacherous Iranian attacks”, it said in a statement, claiming to be on “high alert”.
Iran strikes Kuwait and Bahrain
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed strikes against Kuwait and Bahrain in retaliation for US attacks on Iranian territory, warning that any further aggression would be met with a “relentless response”.
The Guardians “destroyed eight major US military infrastructures at the Ali al-Salem base in Kuwait and at the Fifth Naval Fleet base at Port Salman in Bahrain,” they said in a statement. “Any enemy aggression, whatever the pretext, even against insignificant targets (…) will receive an implacable response,” added the ideological army of the Islamic Republic.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran will cease to exist!” », threatens Trump
US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that Iran “will cease to exist” if the United States decides to go to war against it again, accusing Tehran of having violated the ceasefire.
“American planes have just struck Iranian missile and drone storage sites, as well as coastal radar stations, for having violated, AGAIN, the ceasefire agreement! » Mr. Trump wrote on his Truth Social network.
“It is very likely that they will never learn the lessons! It may be that one day we will no longer be able to demonstrate reason and that we will be forced to carry out by military force the mission that we have started so well. If this happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will cease to exist! » he added.
American bombings on Iran
The US air force targeted ten targets, including “Iranian military surveillance infrastructure, communications systems, air defense sites, drone storage facilities and mine-laying assets,” US Central Command (Centcom) wrote on X.
Iranian media reported several explosions in the Sirik and Qeshm regions in the south of the country. Centcom posted a brief video online on X presented as that of the raid.

These bombings were decided, according to Centcom, in retaliation for an attack by an Iranian drone on a Panamanian-flagged tanker, the M/T Kiku, which was transporting more than two million barrels of crude oil across the strait.
