Jane Austen’s iconic classic Sense and Sensibility has appeared on the silver screen many times before. An adaptation of the novel is also planned for this year. After the first stills from the costume drama with Daisy Edgar-Jones were released this week, the first trailer now follows Sense and Sensibility (2026)!
Classic story
This romantic costume drama brings the classic story of sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood back to life. After the sudden death of their father, the family loses their familiar, comfortable status. Together with their mother and younger sister, they have to start over in the 18th century English countryside. As they fight for a new future, the sisters are torn between social duty, deep heartbreak and the call of their hearts.

Sense and Sensibilitypublished in 1811, has had many edits. Perhaps the best known of these is the 1995 Hollywood film starring Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet, Alan Rickman and Hugh Grant. The new version features Daisy Edgar-Jones, Caitríona Balfe, George MacKay, Fiona Shaw and Esmé Creed-Miles in the cast of the costume drama.
