Power outages
Brittany is not experiencing its first power outage. But usually, it is the storm that damages the electricity network, and not the heatwave. Tuesday June 23, in Finistère, nearly 120,000 homes found themselves without electricity, after an explosion which damaged a transformer near Quimper. The incident, which did not cause any injuries, was attributed to extreme heat. The temperature outside was flirting with 40 degrees. Never seen before. It took twenty-four hours for all customers to have power again.
