Russian bombings in the south and northeast of Ukraine have left at least six dead, including three members of the same family, authorities announced on Monday.

In a press release, the Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office states that a Russian drone struck the house of a “large family” in the town of Znob-Novgorodské, in the Sumy region (north-east) on Monday at 4:50 a.m. local time.
“A 13-year-old boy, his 36-year-old father and his 73-year-old grandmother were killed,” said the Prosecutor’s Office, adding that the child’s mother, aged 31, his 10-year-old brother and his 13-year-old sister were injured in the attack.
In the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia, a woman died after being trapped in a house set on fire by a Russian drone attack, the head of the region’s military administration, Ivan Fedorov, announced on Telegram.
His counterpart in the Odessa region (south), Oleg Kiper, reported an “Iskander ballistic missile” attack on Sunday evening against an agricultural site, deploring the death of one person.
A cargo ship also caught fire in the Black Sea after a Russian drone attack, killing at least one person, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiï Kouleba announced on Monday.
“A drone strike caused a fire on a Panamanian-flagged ship. A crew member was killed: a 58-year-old cook, of Egyptian nationality,” Mr. Kouleba wrote on Telegram, adding that eight sailors had been rescued.
Russia has been bombing Ukraine daily since the war began in February 2022. Lately, Kyiv has stepped up its own attacks on Russian territory.
Moscow’s four airports were also temporarily closed on Monday due to waves of Ukrainian drones, with local authorities citing more than sixty aircraft shot down.
