HBO Max has confirmed that production on the third season of The Pitt (2025– ) has started. A short video shows the staff badges of the main characters, which immediately makes it clear who is returning for a new shift in the emergency room.
Well-known cast checks in again
Two months after the season 2 finale, filming for season 3 has already begun. In the video we see Noah Wyle (Dr. Michael Robinavitch), Katherine LaNasa (Dana Evans) and Patrick Ball (Dr. Frank Langdon) return in the new season.
Not all faces return. Supriya Ganesh will not be returning to her role as Dr. Samira Mohan in season 3. Shabana Azeez (Victoria Javadi) will also not be seen in the emergency room; her character has chosen to specialize in psychiatry.
Time jump
While season 2 took place on the 4th of July, season 3 takes a new direction: the cold. This time the story takes place about four months later, in chilly November. Cold weather has not previously been covered in the series and will present a very different type of emergency.
