Tom Holland, who has played Spider-Man since 2016, has named a possible successor: Owen Cooper, known for the critically acclaimed Netflix series Adolescence (2025– ).

In a recent interview, Holland mentioned Cooper’s name as an ideal successor. The 16-year-old actor won several international awards for his role in Adolescence and is considered one of the greatest acting talents of the moment. According to Holland, Cooper has exactly the look and talent that suits a young version of Spider-man.

In addition to mentioning a possible successor, Holland also indicated that he does not necessarily want to completely relinquish the position Spider-Man-franchise. He sees himself in a mentor role for the next Peter Parker, similar to the relationship he himself had with Robert Downey Jr. during his first years as Spider-Man.
