
Reyes del Carmen Martel Rodriguez has many lives and little time. This judge at the juvenile court in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, however, wants to meet us very early in the morning, before starting a long day, between a hearing and a plane trip to a legal conference in Galicia. Far from the austere and sometimes harsh image of the world of justice, Reyes Martel, affable, overflows with passion and enthusiasm to talk about her second life which she devotes to her integration project #UP2U Project “Depende de ti” (“It depends on you”, Editor’s note), created in 2017. She tries to avoid the social exclusion of minors in difficulty, whether they are Spanish or migrants.
