
Philippe Forest loves literature, he is passionate about writing. An entire work marked by childhood and mourning: in 1996, his daughter Pauline died of cancer. She was only 4 years old. The academic teaching in Nantes leaves scholarly discourse to write The Eternal Child (Gallimard, first novel prize 1997). It was necessary, in a sort of emergency, to describe these short years lived, the grief which struck. Thirty years later, it is still about childhood and literature.
