
The issue of immigration is shaking up European public opinion and, by extension, elected officials and governments. The current composition of the European Parliament, following the 2024 elections, has modified the balance between the different political groups and led, on several subjects, including that of immigration, to rapprochements between the European People’s Party (the first political group in the European Parliament, which in principle claims to be Christian democracy!) and other groups located on the right or on the extreme right.
