
The Saint Petersburg Forum, the annual meeting of political leaders and bosses in Russia, ended on Saturday June 6 as it began: with images of fire and black smoke. The fault lies in a new massive Ukrainian drone attack on the birthplace of Vladimir Putin. At the start of the Forum on Wednesday, guests, including China’s Vice President Han Zheng, were greeted with a dark plume floating above a burning oil facility. Even 1,600 km from the front, Russia is hit to the heart.
