Although the first season of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2026) has not even premiered yet, work is already underway behind the scenes on the second season. According to Deadline production has started with the casting of Kasper Krauwel.
Harry’s biggest fan
The character Kasper makes his debut in the book Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secretsthe story on which the second season of the new series will be based. The young wizard of Gryffindor is known as Harry Potter’s biggest fan. With his camera in hand, he chases Harry throughout Hogwarts, much to Harry’s chagrin. In the movie Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002), the character was played by Hugh Mitchell, but his role was limited thereafter. He continued to return for several volumes, eventually even joining Dumbledore’s Army during the battle against Voldemort.
Kasper Krauwel in sight
The search is now underway for an actor who can succeed Mitchell in the upcoming series. Candidates have even been invited for follow-up rounds. Presumably, Kasper will be one of the characters who will have a much more extensive role in the series than in the films. In the meantime, we are also working hard on the character Voldemort. HBO Max is doing everything it can to keep it a secret for the time being who will take on the role of the villain. It was recently speculated that Owen Cooper, known for Adolescence (2025– ), would have landed the role of Tom Riddle.
