Determined to pass her bill aimed at preventing violence in schools in the wake of the Bétharram scandal, MP Violette Spillebout finally withdrew on Monday evening article 9 providing for the obligation to denounce crimes of which ministers of religion would have become aware in the context of confession, which would thus have violated sacramental secrecy. This provision provoked significant mobilization in Catholic circles. An understandable indignation.
