In The Believers we see how thirty-year-old Ruth, after years of no contact with her family, returns to her parental home when her mother dies under mysterious circumstances. Once home, she finds her father Martín there, a former police officer who, after his retirement, has immersed himself in conspiracy theories about the government, the pharmaceutical industry and the media. His aggressive and strange behavior makes Ruth wonder more and more seriously whether her father had something to do with her mother’s death.

The Believers is directed by Roger Gual, known from the Netflix series Clans (2024– ) in The mess you leave (2020). The leading roles are played by José Coronado, Stéphanie Magnin, Noémie Dulau, Fanny Gautier, Olya López, Alberto Olmo and Israel Ruiz. The screenplay was written by Carlos Montero and Darío Madrona, the duo behind the popular Netflix series Elite (2018–2024).
