The ongoing forest fires in parts of France and Spain are forcing countless people to evacuate, with great uncertainty about the preservation of their estates. They also include Hollywood actor George Clooney and his wife Amal Clooney. The two themselves decided to leave their home in Brignoles (Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur), a day after a new fire broke out in the area around that place.
At home in France
The Clooneys lived in the house in Brignoles with their two nine-year-old children Alexander and Ella, who are twins. The actor has several homes in the US, England and Italy, but last year the family decided to base themselves in France. Clooney said he chose this partly because he did not feel comfortable letting his children grow up in Los Angeles.

This week the Clooneys are leaving Brignoles again, and that decision has everything to do with the worrying spread of forest fires in this region. On Wednesday, a new fire broke out near Brignoles, causing 700 people to seek safety. Clooney himself explained the decision to do this in a released letter to the mayor of his hometown.
Ongoing involvement
“We have no idea if our house can hold up at this terrible moment,” the Jay Kelly star wrote. “We hope so [iedereen] remains safe, and we promise that whatever happens, Amal and I will remain committed to this place.” In total, according to CNN 3,000 people had already been evacuated from the region in which the Clooneys lived.
