In the aftermath of the major earthquake that hit Kumamoto prefecture, Japan, the human toll still remains uncertain. Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi spoke on Wednesday July 29 to announce that at least 13 people died in the disaster which occurred around 4:30 p.m. local time. “Extensive damage has been confirmed, including casualties, building collapses, fires and road damage,” she said. City hospitals report around a hundred injured.
