The parasitic outbreak in the United States has now spread to nine states with nearly 2,000 confirmed cases.

The nine affected states are Illinois, Kansas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan and West Virginia, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed on Friday.
In these nine states, 1,947 cases have been confirmed by the CDC, reports NBC News.
“We are receiving more comprehensive case data covering the scope of the outbreak,” said Gwen Biggerstaff, deputy director of the CDC’s Division of Food, Water and Environmental Diseases. States conduct interviews with people, and we complete the data. »
