Rare archive material
Disney+ does this on the basis of new interviews with Andrews and rare archive footage. The documentary is directed by RJ Cutler, who previously also made a documentary about Billie Eilish. According to the director, it is a great honor to make a production about a ‘cultural icon’ like Julie Andrews. “Most people don’t know the challenges she had to overcome. It’s all covered in the film,” Cutler said. The documentary will be released on Disney+ in 2027.
