Snoop Dogg has achieved considerable status in the many years that he has been active as a rapper. The artist of well-known hits such as Drop It Like It’s Hot in Young Wild And Free therefore gets its own movie at Universal! American media now share that a release date has been found for the biopic about Snoop Dogg. The music film about the rapper will be released in theaters on August 6, 2027.
Craig Brewer
The Snoop Dogg biopic is directed by Craig Brewer. He previously also made the musical cinema hit Song Sung Blue (2025). Universal Studios has previously achieved success with biopics and hopes to achieve the same with the upcoming theatrical film. Universals Michael (2026) grossed a sky-high amount at the box office week after week and also Straight Outta Compton (2015) was a box office success.
Outer Banksstar in the lead role
star Jonathan Daviss will star in the upcoming Snoop Dogg biopic. The cinema film is about youth and the rise of the rapper. He broke through in the early 1990s with his album Doggystyle and his production label Death Row Records. This period will undoubtedly form the core for the new film.
