The family of young Kaylee Hottle shares sad news. In a livestream on Facebook, her father announced that Hottle died after a car accident in the American state of Maryland. He did this in ASL, because both her father and young Kaylee herself were deaf. There has been some confusion about Hottle’s age, but various American media reported that the actress was only 18 years old.

Hottle has been appearing in commercials from a young age. For Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), the actress was cast in the role of Jia, a deaf orphan girl who builds a close bond with Kong. She later reprized this role in the sequel, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024) and for that she was nominated for a Saturn Award in the Best Young Actor category.
