Anne Hathaway has provided a new update on The Princess Diaries 3. In an interview on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy, the actress said that the script that the makers had been working on for years has largely been abandoned.
Breakthrough in the story
Hathaway has spoken positively about a sequel The Princess Diaries (2001) in The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004). After having to largely redo the previous version of the script, the team recently found a breakthrough in the story.

Third pregnancy
The shooting of the long-awaited third film will have to wait a while. Hathaway is currently in her third pregnancy. Disney announced the third part in 2024 and there is still no green light for production.
Cast members unknown
Hathaway will return as Mia Thermopolis and is the only confirmed cast member so far. The Princess Diaries 3 will be directed by Adele Lim of fame Joy Ride (2023).
