Warner Bros. last Saturday gave a select group of journalists and influencers a first look at 14-minute images of The End of Oak Street (2026). The science fiction film by director David Robert Mitchell centers on a family that has to survive after their neighborhood suddenly ends up in a world full of dinosaurs.
On the run from dinosaurs
The footage shown follows the family of Denise (Anne Hathaway) and Greg (Ewan McGregor) as their street is moved. When the couple leaves the house to look for their dog, they are shocked to find that the street is full of dinosaurs. Denise and Greg become separated and narrowly escape the dinosaurs.
The End of Oak Street (2026)
The Oak Street members of the Platt family discover that their neighborhood has been transported to an unknown place by a mysterious cosmic event.
Horror of new environment
Mitchell, known from the horror film It Follows (2014), emphasizes that family dynamics in The End of Oak Street plays an important role. The film also keeps switching perspectives between Hathaway and McGregor’s characters, so that the audience experiences the horror of their new environment from both sides.
Release
The End of Oak Street is from 13 augustus to be seen in cinemas.
