After three seasons full of romance, touching moments and a loyal fan base Heartstopper (2022–2024) finally came to an end this week. Netflix has ended the beloved series with the film Heartstopper Forever (2026) which has been available on Netflix since Friday. Since then, social media has been about virtually nothing else. Fans describe the film as a worthy farewell and admit that they were barely able to keep it dry.
Long distance relationship
Of Heartstopperfranchise has reached a fantastic peak with the new film. Everything indicates that Netflix will present impressive viewing figures next week. The film picks up after the third season. Nick prepares to leave for college while Charlie begins his senior year of high school. For the first time, the two lovers must learn to deal with a long-distance relationship. At the same time, their friends also face important choices about their future.
Finally satisfied fans
The film is spoken of with great praise. The performances of Kit Connor and Joe Locke in particular are once again praised. Critics also speak of an emotional, moving and, above all, fitting end to the series. A smaller group does not agree with the film as a conclusion at all, the switch to a feature film would be at the expense of the supporting roles that have now received much less attention. In general, however, a positive assessment predominates. That positivity is striking. In a period when finals of other major series such as Stranger Things (2016–2025) in The Boys (2019–2026) have sparked a lot of discussion, it seems Heartstopper Forever precisely one of the few series finales that largely manages to satisfy both fans and critics.
