The World Health Organization (WHO) warned on July 14: the number of cases (more than 2,000 recorded at this stage) could be “two to four times” higher. 80% of new cases come from “unknown chains of transmission”. The progression of the virus is “unprecedented”, according to Doctors Without Borders (MSF). “The number of confirmed cases has tripled” in five weeks, points out the NGO, while “the number of deaths has more than quintupled” in the same period.
