
Since the evening of Sunday July 12, the favorite hunting ground of the kings of France has been engulfed in flames which have destroyed nearly 1,000 hectares, or almost 5% of the Fontainebleau massif (Seine-et-Marne). After Brittany, marked by the fire in the Brocéliande forest in 2022, Île-de-France is in turn facing large-scale forest fires. With the rise in temperatures linked to global warming, these fires, formerly confined to the Mediterranean rim and the Gironde, are now reaching the northern regions.
