
The message is clear: the regime’s hardliners, embodied by the Revolutionary Guards, have control in Iran, to the detriment of the officials responsible for leading talks with the United States, whose profile seems less marked by a theological-political vision. Instead of negotiation, they prefer confrontation, relying on their trump card, the Strait of Hormuz.
