Netflix wants to start with the release of Heartstopper: Ending on a Hi (2026) the impact of the cultural phenomenon Heartstopper (2022–2024). The 35-minute documentary looks back on the series and will air a week after Heartstopper Forever (2026), the concluding film of the franchise, is released.
Impressed by the supporters
Soon after the first season of Heartstopper in 2022, the series grew into a global phenomenon. Creator Alice Oseman has always been impressed by how passionate and encouraging the series’ following is. She wants to celebrate this connection by releasing this short special.

A farewell special that looks back on ‘Hearstopper’. The special features never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage along with interviews with cast, crew, fans and journalists.

The special features leading actors Kit Connor and Joe Locke, along with cast members such as Yasmin Finney, William Gao, Corinna Brown and Kizzy Edgell. Executive producer Patrick Walters also shares his view on the cultural importance of the series:
I’ve had more than one parent tell me that it allowed their child to have the conversation of, “I’m like one of the characters in the show.”

Part of a larger farewell
Heartstopper: Ending on a Hi isn’t the only way Netflix is ending Heartstopper celebrates. The premiere will also take place on July 14 Heartstopper Forever place. There will also be a daily game show from July 9 to 15, followed by accompanying bloopers on July 16. A podcast will also be released on July 17 with Connor and Locke, among others.
Release date
Heartstopper: Ending on a Hi is from July 24 to be seen on Netflix, a week after the release of Heartstopper Forever on July 17.
