
It is an understatement to say that this decision is particularly awaited: Tuesday July 7, the Paris Court of Appeal rules on the case of the parliamentary assistants of the National Rally, which will confirm or not, the ineligibility of Marine Le Pen. This is the culmination of a trial which took place from January 13 to February 11, almost ten months after the resounding conviction at first instance of the frontist leader to four years in prison (two of which were closed) and five years of immediate ineligibility. Twenty-five other defendants – including the party as a legal entity – were convicted in this case, only half of whom appealed.
