The Dutch film Paaz (2026) continues to perform well weeks after coming to Netflix. The tragicomedy has now been in the Dutch Netflix top 10 for four consecutive weeks and has managed to reach a large audience. The film continues the success that already started in cinemas.
Success in the cinema
PAAZ is based on the autobiographical bestseller of the same name by Myrthe van der Meer and is about 29-year-old Emma. Emma seems to have her life in order. She has a nice job, a nice relationship and a stable home situation, but everything suddenly changes when she is admitted to the psychiatric department of a general hospital after a major incident. Emma is convinced that something is wrong, that someone has made a mistake, but she is forced to examine her mental health. PAAZ did fantastic at the cinema by Dutch standards and attracted more than 100,000 visitors within a few months.

PAAZ has been available on Netflix since early June and is once again doing great. The film has not disappeared from the top ten since its appearance on the platform. PAAZ is directed by Anne de Clercq. The screenplay was created through the collaboration of De Clercq, Eva Aben and Lineke van den Boezem. The cast includes Gaite Jansen, Jonas Smulders, Gijs Blom, Georgina Verbaan, Bianca Krijgsman, Ariane Schluter, Peter Blok and Emmanuel Ohene Boafo.
