After the release of Enola Holmes 3 (2026), Himesh Patel has spoken out about the future of Henry Cavill’s Sherlock Holmes. Cavill’s interpretation of the famous detective plays an important role within the franchise.
Patel wants more Sherlock and Watson
In an interview with ScreenRant, Patel, who spoke in Enola Holmes 3 plays the role of Dr. John Watson after his brief appearance at the end of Enola Holmes 2 (2022) expresses what he would like to see in the next part. Patel indicated that he would like to release a classic Sherlock-Watson story with Cavill.
I’d love to do a classic Sherlock-Watson story with him. That’d be a lot of fun. I think he’s a fantastic actor.

Sherlock kidnapped in Enola Holmes 3
Cavill’s Sherlock and Patel’s Watson are in most of it Enola Holmes 3 separated. The film centers on the kidnapping of Sherlock Holmes on the eve of the wedding between Enola (Millie Bobby Brown) and Lord Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge), after which Enola and Watson join forces to save him.

Future uncertain
Enola Holmes 3directed by Philip Barantini, has been on since 1 July on Netflix. There has been no announcement yet of a fourth Enola Holmes film or a separate Sherlock/Watson spin-off.
