This summer, Arte is celebrating disco, born half a century ago in the United States, and which still makes the world dance. Among a very “glitter ball” program, the history of the Bee Gees is worth discovering. Barry, Maurice and Robin Gibb, and their little brother Andy are from Manchester but grew up in Brisbane, Australia. Adolescents with suave voices pushed by their father to become professionals, they sang from their early childhood and dreamed of becoming Beatles. “The Beatles transformed music into art, that’s what we want to do!” », says one of them. Their splendid vocal harmonies and their catchy sense of melody made them stars with soaring hits like Massachusetts in 1968.
