Harvey Weinstein has been rushed to a hospital. The former studio boss, who was found guilty of sexual assault for a second time last year, has been in prison since 2020. Weinstein is said to have recently become unwell due to heart failure.
Heart failure
Entertainmentwebsite TMZ shares that Weinstein has been in the hospital since mid-June, after his health suddenly deteriorated further and he could no longer remain in prison in Queens (New York). The convicted former producer suffered from breathing problems and is now being treated in a hospital in Manhattan.
Other place of residence
It has been known for some time that Weinstein has a bad heart. In 2022, he was sentenced to sixteen years in prison in California for rape and sexual abuse. He is currently not serving this sentence in that state, because he is awaiting the verdict in another case in New York. From a health point of view, it is virtually impossible that the maker will ever get out of prison alive, especially because he could get up to ten extra years from his subsequent case.
According to the estimation of sources that film platform Deadline have informed, Weinstein must remain in the hospital for at least a few more weeks.
