Netflix has released the official trailer for A Toxic Love Story (2026), a new truecrime documentary that will soon be available on the streaming service. The documentary is directed by Alexandra Lacey (The Twister: Caught in the Storm (2025)) and produced by Curious Films.
A marriage that turns into a nightmare
The story begins when a newlywed woman is flooded with threatening emails from a mysterious sender who calls himself “Lilithistruth”. Soon all clues seem to point to her husband’s ex-wife, who is eventually arrested. However, what seems like a clear case at first glance grows into a much more complex mystery. As the investigation continues to unfold, new revelations come to light and it becomes increasingly unclear who is telling the truth.
Who is the victim and who is the perpetrator?
The documentary delves deep into the lives of three central figures: Ian, his wife Angela and his ex-wife Michelle. As the investigation progresses, the boundaries between victim and perpetrator become blurred and nothing turns out to be what it seems at first glance. With exclusive insights and a reconstruction of the events A Toxic Love Story exposes a complicated web of manipulation, deceit and hidden motives.
