
The One Piece universe on Netflix is starting to expand. We recently wrote that a LEGO special is in the works at the streaming service, but now comes the news that an anime series will be released next year. A first teaser can now be seen.
Mysterious treasure
Just like the beloved live-action series, with a third season in the works, will The One Piece drawing inspiration from Eiichiro Oda’s famous manga. Aspiring pirate Monkey D. Luffy sets sail with the Straw Hats to hunt for the mysterious ‘One Piece’ treasure. Luffy’s unique qualities serve him well in the fight against some evil villains.

Introducing Luffy
The first season of The One Piece will cover the first fifty chapters of the original manga, the East Blue Saga. The primary studio (WIT) that records the production made, among other things Attack on Titan (2013–2022) (first three seasons) and Spy x Family (2022–2025). Attack on Titancreator Masashi Koizuka is at the helm.
Netflix has not yet revealed an exact release date for the anime series, but has already announced that it is scheduled to be released February 2027. Season 1 will consist of seven episodes.
