The Dance of the Dragons continues in the latest season of House of the Dragon (2022– ) the long-awaited Battle of the Gullet is planned. The third part of the Game of the Thrones series, which according to showrunner Ryan Condal will be ‘an all-out war’, now starts on HBO Max.

What is the third season about?
In the third season, the devastating Targaryen civil war rages on unabated. The battle for the Iron Throne is fiercer than ever, as Westeros succumbs to the violence of the Dance of the Dragons. Torn by loss and betrayal, the royal family must face the fact that blood ties are no guarantee of loyalty. As alliances shift and factions strengthen their positions, the all-powerful dynasty teeters on the brink of collapse.
Who will we see again in the third season?
In the third season of House of the Dragon we see Emma D’Arcy (Digger (2026)) returns as Rhaenyra Targaryen and also returns Matt Smith (Doctor Who (1996)) returns as Daemon Targaryen. The familiar cast is complete with Oliva Cooke (Ready Player One (2018)), whom we see again as Alicent Hightower.
