If there’s one place an average person considers a safe environment, it’s “home.” In the newly anticipated Netflix thriller The Last House (2026) turns the home of a four-person family into a prison. The trailer can now be viewed.
Lock on the door
The main characters of The Last House are about to go out together when the lock on the front door suddenly stops working. From one moment to the next, Ann, Jason and their two children are trapped in their own home and have to survive with limited resources. Who or what is holding them captive, and why?
Good couple
The couple that ends up in this dire situation is played by Greta Lee and Wagner Moura, two esteemed actors who have both appeared in a longer-running Netflix series (Lee in Russian Doll (2019–2022), Moura in Narcos (2015–2017)). Lee received widespread praise and a Golden Globe nomination for her starring role in the drama Past Lives (2023). Moura shone in the Oscar-nominated film The Secret Agent (2025), which was also released in the Netherlands earlier this year.

Once again in partnership with Netflix
The French director of the film, Louis Leterrier, already has quite a few Hollywood titles to his name. So he made The Transporter (2002) (and its sequel) and Now You See Me (2013), and he is the right man for it Fast Forever (2028), the eleventh and final part of the Fast & Furiousfranchise. A previous collaboration with Netflix (Far from the ring road (2022), with Omar Sy) apparently pleased the streaming service.
