To cope with the loss of her sister, Jill does something unusual: she continues to send her voicemails, full of candid and chaotic updates about her life in San Francisco. What she doesn’t know is that the telephone number is now in use by someone else. On the other end of the line, all the way in Austin, a real estate agent listens with fascination to her hilarious messages. A special, anonymous connection is created, until the voicemails suddenly stop.
