
The book that you have just published (De l’immigration en France, Grasset, 208 p., €18) advocates a “balanced” immigration policy that could “unite all French people”. Isn’t this unrealistic given the current climate?
I interviewed dozens of actors in immigration policy, police officers, farmers, traders, business and association leaders. I come away convinced that on the ground, among fellow citizens, we make the same observations and we work rather well together, unlike these policies which hysterize the debate.
