
The handful of activists wearing t-shirts adorned with scales, the symbol of the Ethiopian Citizens for Social Justice (Ezema) party, contrast with the thousands of supporters gathered the day before by the Prosperity Party (PP). “The PP pays participants to attend these rallies but we do not believe in this mentality, because we are fighting for our own justice, which cannot be bought with money,” assures Harole Yoseph, Ezema’s candidate in the constituency of Bole, an upscale district of Addis Ababa.
