
In his encyclical published Monday May 25, 2026, Leo XIV urged governments to regulate artificial intelligence systems to prevent this technology from “dominating humans”. With the exception of Anthropic, which participated in the presentation of the document in Rome, most of the leaders of the AI giants seem, so far, to have decided to ignore the American pope’s call.
