Fans of the hit series Mobland (2025– ) are slightly panicking now that rumors are circulating that the series may have to continue without leading actor Tom Hardy. According to various reports, the actor had an argument with the producers, after which he was even fired. However, the story now seems to be a lot more nuanced.
Argument behind the scenes
Initially it looked like Hardy was out for good MobLand had been set. According to entertainment platform Puck, the actor has clashed several times with producers Jez Butterworth and David Glasser. Tensions behind the scenes are said to have risen so high that Butterworth reportedly issued an ultimatum: it was him or Hardy. Paramount is said to have sided with the producer, after which reports emerged that Hardy had been fired from the series. That news immediately caused great unrest among fans, as Hardy is considered the face of the successful crime series.
Not final yet
However, the situation now appears to be less black and white than the first reports suggested. Hardy would not be completely ruled out of further seasons. No final decisions have been made behind the scenes. Moreover, Mobland is not yet certain about a third season. As a result, it is currently unclear whether anyone will return to the set at all.
