Zapopan: Man dies from electric shock in the municipality


UA man who was doing masonry work died this Thursday morning after being electrocuted.

The events were reported at a construction site located on Plátano and Roble streets, in the Mirador Escondido neighborhood of the municipality of Zapopan.

Municipal authorities received a report of a man lying unconscious at a construction site. Upon arriving at the site, municipal police and elements of Civil Protection and Zapopan Firefighters located the man’s body.

Workers indicated that the 61-year-old victim was working on the second level of the construction site when he accidentally touched several high-voltage cables, for which he received an electric shock of 23,000 volts.

The discharge caused the death of the man, a situation that was corroborated by municipal Medical Services personnel.

Public Ministry personnel also arrived at the scene to carry out the corresponding investigations and take the body to the metropolitan morgue.
