A 17 -year -old adolescent suspected of the grenade attack in Grenoble

A 17 -year -old teenager, arrested on Wednesday in possession of a shotgun, is now suspected of being the author of the Granada attack which injured fifteen people on February 12 in an associative bar in Grenoble.

Initially questioned for an attempted homicide linked to drug trafficking, he spontaneously mentioned his involvement in the attack, before retracting. But the investigators today have “material evidence” against him, according to the Lyon prosecutor, Thierry Dran.

The adolescent arrested also revealed to investigators elements on another shooting, which occurred on the night of Wednesday to Thursday in Bourg-lès-Valence, in Drôme. During a surveillance operation carried out by plainclothes gendarmes, a man came out of a suspicious vehicle and opened fire on them. A gendarme retaliated and injured the shooter, but the vehicle fled.

Since then, four individuals have been arrested in this case. During a trip to Valence, Bruno Retailleau denounced a “gang war” which gangrene Grenoble and its periphery, deploring “a terrible rejuvenation of the killers and the killed”.
