This Friday, May 29, the lower house of the Polish Parliament adopted a bill on the “status of the closest person”, a system comparable to the French “Pacs”, allowing in particular two people of the same sex to enter into a civil union. Along with four other states, Poland, where same-sex marriage remains illegal, is one of the last European countries without such legislation.
