The new bell, cast by the French foundry Cornille-Havard, rings above the streets of the old city of Mosul. Twelve years after the capture of the city by Daesh, this sound was enough to bring tears to the eyes of the faithful who came to fill the grounds of the Mar Toma Syriac-Orthodox church on this Friday, July 3, 2026, the feast of Saint Thomas.
