The 83-year-old Democrat revealed in May 2025 that he had “aggressive” prostate cancer.
“I spent a lot of time with my family. I have cancer, I’m undergoing treatment and everything is going really well,” he said in a short video.
Joe Biden explains that this book will be devoted to “the challenges we have faced as a nation, the decisions I have made and why I have made them”.
His mandate at the head of the United States began with the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021 by pro-Trump supporters, with the aim of preventing the certification of his victory, after false allegations from the Republican candidate.
He then had to face, among other things, the aftermath of the Covid crisis and the start of the war in Ukraine, in February 2022.
The 46th President of the United States also affirmed that he would return in his book to the reasons which pushed him to withdraw from the race for a possible second term in 2024, for the benefit of his vice-president Kamala Harris.
“Promise Me, America” will be released on November 17, just weeks after the midterm elections.
