Calvin Penney is a stubborn fisherman living in a small town in Newfoundland who is still haunted by the mysterious death of his father decades ago. When a strange sea monster begins to terrorize his hometown, Calvin must do everything he can to keep his close-knit community together.
Struggle with the creature
Determined to protect his son Wade and the rest of his family, he joins forces with a visiting marine researcher. Together they battle the creature and try to uncover the island’s buried secrets before it’s too late.

Long what Below known at Netflix as ‘Untitled Netflix Newfoundland Series’, but the six-part miniseries is now taking shape! The new thriller series was created by showrunner Jesse McKeown, who previously co-wrote The Umbrella Academy (2019–2024). Jamie Childs, Helen Shaver and Sephen Dunn directed the episodes of Below.
Charlie Heaton en Josh Hartnett
The cast includes Josh Hartnett (who was sent to hospital after an accident during filming), Charlie Heaton and Mackenzie Davis. The cast is completed by Willow Kean, Ruby Stokes, Rohan Campbell and Kaleb Horn. We get a first look at it Below with the just revealed images!
