New Zealand actor Sam Neill died on Monday at the age of 78. “The loss came suddenly and unexpectedly,” the actor’s family said in a statement. Neill struggled with his health for years. In 2022 he was diagnosed with blood cancer, but was declared cancer-free after several treatments. “The family takes comfort in the fact that Sam was cancer-free.”
Cause of death unknown
“More details will be shared at a later date,” the actor’s family said in a statement. “For now, we ask that you respect the privacy of your loved ones as they try to come to terms with this great loss.” It is therefore not known exactly what the cause of Neill’s death was.
Jurassic Park
Sam Neill had many major series and film titles to his name. He became famous thanks to the film Sleeping Dogs (1977) and subsequently booked roles in other well-known films. Neill appeared as Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park and later took up that role Jurassic Park III (2001) in Jurassic World: Dominion (2022). He also played the role of Major Chester Campbell in the first two seasons of the hit series Peaky Blinders.
