It looks like Netflix has found its new Robert Langdon. Morgan Spector, known for The Gilded Age (2022– ), is in negotiations to play the role of the professor in the series based on Dan Brown’s latest book The Secret of Secrets. Spector takes over the role of Tom Hanks, which Langdon previously played in the films The Da Vinci Code (2006), Angels & Demons (2009) in Inferno (2016).
More casting news
In addition to Spector, Netflix is also said to be in talks with Rebecca Hall. Hall should play the role of Katherine Solomon. Solomon suddenly disappears into the story as she was about to make a groundbreaking discovery. Langdon then embarks on a perilous quest to find her and her revolutionary manuscript. The series was announced last year after Netflix managed to acquire the rights to Brown’s novel after a fierce bidding war.
Awaiting Netflix
Filming of the new series will start this autumn in Prague. In all likelihood, this means that Spector will step into his role The Gilded Age can combine with Netflix production. Netflix has not yet officially confirmed the casting and has not yet responded to the rumors.
