Universal has shared the first trailer for Soulm8te (2026), the new spin-off of M3GAN (2022). The film revolves around an AI companion who becomes obsessed with her owner.
From mourning to nightmare
Soulm8te follows the story of a widower who brings in an advanced AI companion to cope with the loss of his wife. What starts as a way to ease his loneliness quickly turns into a nightmare.

Adult spin-off
Where M3GAN is mainly known for the combination of horror and black humor Soulm8te for an erotic thriller story with more violence. The film received an R rating in the United States. Director Kate Dolan says that the film is easy to follow without the previous one M3GANmovies to have seen.
Digital release
Originally stood Soulm8te planned for a theatrical release, but after the disappointing result of M3GAN 2.0 Universal decided to change plans. The film will be released digitally only. A Dutch release date is not yet known.
