Seven dead in Russian strikes
Russian strikes left at least seven dead and several injured on Wednesday July 8 in Ukraine, while President Volodymyr Zelensky is due to meet Donald Trump on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara.
“A mother and her daughter were killed, a 38-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl” in the Mykolaiv region (south), said the head of the region Vitali Kim, specifying that two other people had been injured.
Explosions heard in kyiv
Several explosions shook the Ukrainian capital kyiv early this morning, on the last day of the NATO summit in Türkiye. A first explosion was heard even before the city’s air alert sirens sounded, and was followed by four others, journalists on site said.
The attack comes less than a week after the worst Russian strikes on kyiv, which left 30 dead. The mayor, Vitali Klitschko, reported two injured. It said warehouses were on fire in one area of the city following a missile strike, and that a “non-residential building” was also on fire in another area. “The enemy is attacking the capital with ballistic missiles. Stay in the shelters! », Wrote Vitali Klitschko on social networks.
